Steel.

Completed steel roofing and cladding projects across London and the South East, including pre-finished steel systems on residential and commercial buildings.

What steel roofing looks like in practice

Pre-painted steel has a clean, consistent appearance that holds its colour well over time when the right coating system is chosen. Unlike zinc or copper, it does not weather or develop a patina — what you see at installation is broadly what you will see for the lifetime of the roof. The photos above show completed steel roofing and cladding projects using standing seam and profiled systems, across residential and commercial building types.

Typical steel projects

Steel is a strong choice for projects where colour selection, cost control, and robustness are all important. We use it on residential extensions, agricultural and outbuilding roofs, and commercial projects where durability and finish consistency matter. Standing seam steel in particular suits contemporary buildings and can be specified across roof and wall in a coordinated colour palette. It is also regularly used on projects where zinc or copper would be over-specified for the building type.

Considering steel for your project?

Coated steel can be an excellent choice when you need a durable, good-looking metal roof without moving into the higher cost bracket of zinc or copper. Our steel roofing page covers the key considerations, including coating options, colour choice, and how steel compares to other materials on performance and longevity. If steel looks like the right fit for your project, get in touch to discuss.
