Single-Ply.
Completed single-ply flat roofing projects across London and the South East, including flat roof extensions, new builds, and low-pitch applications.
What single-ply roofing looks like in practice
Single-ply membrane systems produce a clean, low-profile flat or shallow-pitch roof surface. The membrane is typically dark grey or light grey and, when correctly installed, the visible details — upstands, trims, outlets, and junctions — should be neat and precise. The photos above show completed single-ply projects across flat roof extensions, new builds, and low-pitch roof forms. The quality of the installation is most apparent at the edges and junctions, which is where most problems occur on poorly installed flat roofs.
Typical single-ply projects
Single-ply is most commonly used on flat or very low-pitch applications where a metal standing seam system is not practical or required. Rear extensions are the most common single-ply job we carry out — it is a practical, reliable, and cost-effective solution for flat roof extensions where the brief calls for a long-term, low-maintenance result without the premium of zinc or aluminium. We also use it on new build flat roofs and on re-roofing projects where the existing system has failed.
Considering single-ply for your project?
Single-ply is worth considering wherever the roof is flat or near-flat and a metal system is not specified. Our single-ply roofing page explains how the system works, what distinguishes a quality installation, and how it compares to other flat roofing options. If you have a flat roof extension or new build project to discuss, get in touch and we can advise on the right approach.
